About Patricia

artist

Like most people, I started making art as a child, but trauma and bereavement interfered with my artistic development and I made nothing until I was 26 years old - the same age that Vincent van Gogh was when he started making art.

Self-taught through library books, then picking up art courses during undergraduate study, I have continued making art, although not always steadily or prolifically, over the second quarter-century of my life, and I intend to continue through the third and fourth quarters as well - or as long as my eyesight and energy hold out. If I lose both, I will find some other way to create - my life and well-being depend upon it!

I have shown my work in various group shows - in London, Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario; Fredericton and St. Andrews, New Brunswick; and in solo shows in London and Toronto. I love the feedback that I get from people who see and respond to my work. Even when the comments are critical, I find them fascinating. I'm excited about the potential of web galleries to connect with a wide range of viewers who would never see my work any other way.
